Being able to tell if a character is versatile or not can be a little difficult, so I recommend to actually play those figures so you can see for yourself whether or not they are versatile. Try playing them filling different roles so you can see their true potential.
Play testing is THE most important thing you can do if you want to get better at HeroClix, but before you begin team building, figure out what format you are most interested in playing in.
